i've been surching online for a new dvd recorder. right now i have a toshiba rdxs35...it works awesome... especially transfering vhs tapes and i love the hard drive so i can record a show and watch it when ever i want too and i don't have to waste a dvd-r on every show i want to record. the thing is i just upgraded all my stuff to HD TV and of course the dvd recorder will not record in HD. Any suggestions as to what i should look at? i'm open for anything. any ideas let me know. thanks!

There is no DVDR (meaning DVD Recorder) in the US that allows recording in HD. If you want to record and playback in HD, you have the following options. For cable, sat or FIOS, rent their DVR. For OTA, get TiVo-HD. If you are really computer savy, buy or build a HTPC (outside the scope of this forum). That's pretty much it for contemporary electronics and HD recording.
