I have a Panasonic 60" flat screen LCD TV. If I hook the dvd to the component jacks using the composite cables I get a black and white picture. If I hook it up using component cables I get a all blue picture. I have tried adjusting the color using the tv or dvd menu. Nothing changes. Can any body help?

You mean a blank blue screen or an image that is blue tinted? Can you see the DVD and display menus?

You are using three component cables, right? And the color code on each is matched to the right sockets on both the player and display, right?

Try switching the Green and Blue cables on the back of the DVD player. It is likely that you did not properly match the Y (Green) Cb (Blue) and Cr (Red) outputs of the DVD player to that of your display.

And make sure red is going into the Cr video input and not the analog audio input. I've seen that happen.

I made sure the 3 cables are connected right to the back of the tv. I tried switching the green and blue on the dvd and it didn't help. I switched the dvd to a video hook up using the red, white and yellow composite cables and I have proper color. The dvd player is a Arirang DVD Karaoke 3600 Deluxe my brother in law brought back from Vietnam. I even hooked up a 10 yr. old Sony VCR to the componet jacks and still had no color. Could there be something wrong with the tv?

If component is not working on another device, there is a possibility that your television is not working properly, you are not accessing the proper video input, or the cables are still not properly connected to the VCR/DVD player and the back of the television.
