Hi all, been a member for a while but first time poster. Learned a lot but still have some unanswered questions that I have not been able to find. My current situation.

I just picked up a 50" Panasonic TH-50PZ85Uand am going to be mounting it on the wall with The Sanus LT25 tilting wall mount. I have an Onkyo A/V receiver, a DVR box, PS3, and Xbox 360 that will be feeding into it. I plan on using the Omnimount MWFS and due to the WAF only one will be used. It will hold the Onkyo A/V receiver and the DVR box. I will get a new outlet installed to power the TV, A/V receiver, and DVR Box. The consoles will be located in another part of the room out of sight. I plan on connecting them through the wall with HDMI wall plates from Amazon (would link but not enough posts... damn spammers).

Now onto my questions.

1) How do I get the 3 units on the wall to be behind a surge protector? Does anybody make anything custom that is built into the outlet or something that can be hid behind a TV? Do I need a special type of plug installed so the TV and plugs in the outlet do not try to occupy the same place? A model or specific link would be much appreciated

2) Should there be any signal quality or lag concerns regarding the HDMI routing for the consoles? It would be Console>3 ft HDMI Cable>HDMI Face Plate>25ft HDMI Cable>HDMI Face plate>3ft HDMI Cable>Onkyo A/V receiver>HDMI Cable>TV. It will be using a 1080p signal. Would it be better to just run one 25ft cable for each console to the A/V receiver?

3) Any other general tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

This will allow you to put the surge protector with your equipment and still protect your TV. It will also allow you to run the HDMI cable without having to use HDMI face plates:
Powerbridge outlet: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=105&cp_id=10425&cs_id=1042505&p_id=4652&seq =1&format=2 (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=105&cp_id=10425&cs_id=1042505&p_id=4652&seq =1&format=2)

Also, make sure you take into account how you are going to control your equipment remotely (RF, IR repeater, other).

It's always better to simplify cable runs whenever possible just because there are fewer connections to where interference can be induced, pins can bend, solder joints can be bad, etc. That said, it happens all the time in the real world, and if you're careful everything should be fine.

Thanks for the help guys. I will go with the 25ft HDMI cables and picked up the powerbridge outlet as well.

edit: I have another question come up. The power bridge only provides one outlet. How will I power all 3 units? Especially relatively power hungry ones like the 50" plasma and Onkyo A/V receiver? Can I plug in some sort of power strip behind the TV from the one outlet and it will handle all the electricity? Is there another option I should be looking at?
