I can purchase the Samsung 46" LCD LN46A550 for 1350 or the Samsung 50" Plasma PN50A550 for 1500.
I'll be watching sports, movies and gaming via PS3. Thanks!

I'd take a plasma anytime over LCD. I own an LCD, CRT, CRT RPTV and plasma; plasma killed the rest in terms of PQ.

I just purchased a Samsung LN40A550 and prefer plasma over LCD but chose the LCD because of price and the fact this will go in a room where my wife does 90% of the viewing and she tends to leave the TV on a lot. I myself have a 50" Pioneer plasma in the main room with a full home theater set up. The fact that you can get a 50" and a quality plasma for not much more would sway my vote, but either set will definitely give you a nice picture.

I might as well pay the extra 150 bucks for the 50". I'm going for the PN50A550. I'd purchase the PN50A650 but the only difference is that the bezel on the 650 is red and it also costs a few hundred bucks more.
