My old Denon 2900 has finally died and I'm looking for a DVD player to replace it. My current setup feeds all video through my AVM 50 which outputs 1080p/24 to my Sony projector. Given the video scaler built in to the AVM 50, is the Oppo 983H overkill? What would be some other recommendations? I was also using the 2900 for SACD so I'll need something that will support that also.

Get the Oppo 980 and send 480i via HDMI.
