Hi guys I am looking for a remote that can operate also my Projector ( a simple on and off) I got the go ahead signal from my wifey so atlast I can get rid of all my other remotes. :D

If price is a big concern, the Harmony 550 is probably the cheapest remote Logitech has. It can perform all the functions of their bigger brothers. It just doesn't have some of the fancy features like RF control, color screen or touch screen etc. etc. The 550 has a simple monochrome screen, but can replace all your current remotes.

As long as RF isn't a requirement for you, the Harmony 550 would be great. It lists for $99 at Best Buy but I know it can be had for around $70 at other online retailers.

I would go to BB or CC and look at their selection of Harmony remotes. I prefer the button type and layout of the 670. It costs more than the 550 though. Once you find the one you like, you can check online for the best price.

If wifey gave you the go ahead, then I would go for the brass ring and get a Harmony One. If its a simple off/on you want install a toggle switch and save your money.:)

There is a whole range of Harmony remotes, so you need to match your needs and budget to what is available. Once you decide what one fits your needs, check out on-line retailers and Ebay. There is a pretty wide range in prices, so do your homework.

I still recommend the Harmony One. Tell wifey you got it for a song.:)

i'm with rstand on this one... i've owned any number of harmony remotes, and i prefer the h-one to all of the previous ones...

someone else made a really good suggestion, and one that cannot be stressed enough... go to your local big box retailer and pick up some different ones and see if you like the key "feel" and "layout"... if you are a heavy dvr/dvd user, are the transport keys in a comfortable place for you to use? etc.

all harmonys will do the same thing (rf aside), so it's most important that you are comfortable using it...

patient shopping will yield a good price... refurb's pop up all the time, and at very good prices...

Do NOT buy from BB or CC until you shop around online and/or search for local deals. BB and CC are typically MSRP which is far from the price online. Also, check out slickdeals.net forums for the latest deals.
