Sorry if this been asked before, but I'm pulling the plug as a write this on a Harmony 1000 with the RF extender and would like to know if the extender accepts RS232 signals from a projector and receiver?
I know it comes with a few IR emmiters, but dosen't metion anything about RS232 compability. I'd like to covert the emitters from the extender to RS232 plugs to the receiver and projector instead of the IR emitter for better conection.
Thanks in advance.

I think you mean pulling the trigger.
The extender only has 3.5mm (1/8") female ports. There are two emitters per cable connecting to four ports on the exender. You can use a 3.5mm male/male cable instead of the emitters, but not a RS232 cable.

Thanks very much.
How about an RS232 from the device to 3.5mm plug to the logitech extender?
I can make the cable with a cat5.

That might work. You can also run CAT5 to the projector and attach an IR emitter on one end and the 3.5mm plug on the other.

That's what I was thinking. I already have CAT5 cables running from every component (lights, projector, air conditioner, and receiver). From the projector instead of attaching an IR emitter, I want to attach an RS232 plug for better connection, but don't know if the extender is capable of accepting such signals.

The IR jacks on the Extender are one-way output only so I can't imagine how it could work as an RS232 connection.

That's true. So, only IR emitters work with this extender.
So basically, I only need to attach the IR emitters to the receiver, projector, etc, and I'm done?

Remember that the RF Wireless Extender also serves as an IR Blaster. Depending on your geometry, the blaster might reach some of your devices. Say your projector is behind and above you and your other devices are in front of you in cabinets. It might be fine to put the Extender in the front of the room using ports to provide IR control to the devices up front while the Extender's IR Blaster sends the IR control to the projector.
