Since things have been rather quiet here lately (other than problem reports), I recently read a couple of news reports that might be of interest here.

Plex (formerly XBMC on Mac) has come out with two new versions over the last few days, including a new appearance.

Amazon, which had locked out non-Windows users on its Unbox service, has now moved over to something called Video on Demand (http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/04/amazon-video-on-demand-store-open-for-business-via-mac-pc-open/) and it works for Mac users as well.

Not a bad week for Mac htpc users, is it?

Installed Plex 0.5.15 and found some playback issues. Will try 0.5.14 as there is a confirmed bug for those using video_ts playback. Otherwise I'd have to say Plex is pretty good.

Did anyone else using Plex after the fork start having remote problems? I had everything set up and working great as XBMC, but after the first "Plex" release, the remote codes were all messed up. It's almost unusable from the remote (Harmony 880).

The latest version of Plex LOOKS incredible, but the playback, for both TS files and other vids, renders a lot of video entirely unwatchable.

I've been using Plex/OSXBMC for almost 6 months now, and, while I had been a HUGE fan previously, the current bugs are gonna need some serious work.:(
