I am a hockey coach and would like to be able to record specific plays to use in my teaching. I can record the program to my DVR (college, pro etc) and would like to break it down and only record the parts that are specific to the skill we are working on. I do not want to spend allot and quality is important but it is not vital. I will not be recording movies, tv etc.
What should I look for?
What brands should I target or what is the best bang for my buck?
Thanks
Perfect for you would be a Philips DVDR3575H/37 ($189 "factory refreshed" at redtag.com), which has a 160GB HDD and a feature I think will be valuable in a teaching environment: Markers you can set in one or more video segments so you can go back and replay almost instantly.

Anyone else have any suggestions -

Not really. Either the Philips 3576H (or 3575H), or the Magnavox H2160 (or H2080).
(Best price on the Philips: Sam's Club. Best price on the Magnavox: www.walmart.com.)
Those are hard drive models and are probably best for what you want.
