I need to decide whether to put my new 65" LCD on the wall or on a stand.

I have a smaller living room slightly rectangular (think 950 sq. foot house w/3 bedroom plan). The tv is going to be placed in the middle of the smaller wall; I watch it from the middle of the adjanent longer wall, about a 30-40 degree angle I'd guess.

While I could put a recliner in the middle of the room for a direct view, I now like watching from the couch.

I could use reasons to pick either a wall mount or stand. I'm leaning towards a stand, if nothing else it's easy to rotate the viewing angle.

It's also at eye level - a wall mount, I'm not sure, it seems like tv's are often placed above the height of eye level while sitting, which is whre I'd like it.

One question, I'm not sure if they make wall mounts that allow for rotating the tv to a 30 degree angle.

Any tips on choosing?

We are glad we put out tv on a stand. The space under a TV is more or less dead anyway and with a nice stand you have storage space for components or dvd disc binders or whatever - center speaker for your surround system.

Anyhow, we found the stand attractive and useful.

If you want the room to look bigger, go wall mount. When we were re-doing my parent's living room (think small), having the tv wall mounted and nothing below it opened up the room majorily. Then we had a slim tall bookshelf type in the corner to hold dvd player and sat receiver. They were place on the top of the shelfs. All the shelfs where used for plants.

In your case, put it on a temp stand and use that for a few weeks and see if you find it working or now. A wall mount, generall gives you a nice clean look. Tv can be mounted higher and still be viewable as long as it's tilted correctly without straining the neck.
