I am looking to get a decent high-definition camcorder for under $300 and this seems to fit the bill. It looks like a legit camcorder and you can get it at Best-buy and Walmart, but it is $200 so that makes me a little apprehensive. I have a fairly nice camera, but I want to sell it because I never use it. I do, however, feel like I would be more of a camcorder guy. The whole "everyone pose, smile, now says cheese" thing always made me feel odd.
Anyway, if you guys have any knowledge on this camcorder I would greatly appreciate it.

If you go on Vimeo.com there is test footage posted so you can see the DXG for yourself,, personaly I was not that impressed.
I own more than a few smaller flash camcorders, Aipteks and Flips being my favorites.
My very favorites that I own are the Flip Ultra and the Flip Mino, the Flip Ultra is cheaper and has just a tad bit better image quality.
If you need a camera that is DXG like, I would look at the Aiptek A-HD-720p, not a bad little camera (I own the Aiptek as well) but still like the Flip Ultra better.
Anyhow, dont take my word for it, ANY camcorder you are looking at you will be able to find reviews and test footage posted on YouTube and Vimeo.
Do a YouTube or Vimeo search for "Davyo" and you can see some of my reviews and test footage I have posted of some camcorders I own and mentioned.
Cheers

I looked at a few of those. It appears that there are too many aspects that lack in a certain camera, yet the other seems to do well. Maybe I am better off waiting until Black Friday and spending a few hundred more for some quality?

One camcorder I should have perhaps mentioned that I will owning in the next day or two (had it on pre-order from Best Buy) is the new just released Samsung SC-MX20, it looks like a killer camera and is only around $250.00.
It also has some very cool features,,,, me thinks it will become my new favorite camcorder.

Bought one; it does a very good job for the money. The h.264 codec requires lots of processing power (i.e., the videos can look jerky and pixellated even on a dual core machine). I convert all mine to HD-Divx. Vimeo is not a good place to get an idea of any camera's performance.
The Samsung looks like an excellent alternative.
