Anyone know if they are still doing that? I remember many years ago I was able to get an X1 on a demo program they ran, they shipped it to me to try it out for awhile then I shipped it back. I have a friend considering the purchase of a PJ but never seen one and wasn't sure if they want a PJ or a regular TV. As they live in FL, 1200 miles from me, I can't demo my PJ hehe. I was thinking this program would be perfect if it still is running.
Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm going through something similar. I've been poking around on this site for a while reading about people's experiences with different projectors, and looking on projector reviews to see what may best suit me. The worst thing about shopping for a projector is that even if a store has them they are setup really badly and you can't get a decent idea of how they will perform for you. I've narrowed my choices down to a few units but if one of those companies would send demo units that may be enough to push me in thier direction if they perform to my satisfaction.
Right now I feel like I'm making an educated shot in the dark.
BTW I looked all over infocus' web page and couldn't find anything about a demo program, it's probably cost prohibitive for companies to do that these days.

I'd really like to demo the X10, I currently have an Infocus IN72. According to Projectorreviews.com, the X10's black levels aren't all that hot, but I don't think they could be any worse than the IN72, based on technology advances, but who knows.
The demo program used to be thru a company called vernontech, who InFocus partnered with for demoing business projectors. No home theater models were ever available. X1 was a combo business/HT projector, that's why it was on the list.
Vernontech is still around evidently:

The original URL that allowed you to fill out and submit the demo request is gone however.
No mention of free demo program, but InFocus is still listed as a partner. Looks like they rent projectors, but no doubt all are business models. Too bad, I'd take a week's rental of an IN83. :D

Around 5 years ago, I had demoed the X1 through this program and it was immensely helpful in making the decision to move to front PJ. Around a year ago, I was considering upgrading and looked into this program again and was told that since I was not a company looking to buy several projectors. Not sure if this is still the case or if maybe I just hit a tough rep who wasn't interested in helping me.
