ok. my buddy got a refurbished Optoma HD7100 720p projector. it is working fine at 480p, but...when we switch the video to 720p via upconverting pioneer 400K dvd player, we get no video. we are using an HDMI cable w/ dvi converter to the back. video works fine on either hdmi/dvi or component at 480p, but nothing but a black screen at 720p. any ideas? the projector says it is detecting the video signal via hdmi when set to 720p, but only a black screen displays. any ideas????

What happens if you output 1080i/p?

1080i/1080p same thing happens..just a black screen but says DVI detected. any ideas? i'm gonna have him try a different source, but i know this dvd player works. think this is a handshake issue? but if it was, i should get something right??? i get video at 480p?

I experienced a similar problem. Unplugging - plugging the component cable worked but I discovered that I won't have any problems as long as I turn on the projector before the dvd player. Go figure.
