I have been a very happy owner of a Universal Remote URC-200 for many years, it has consolidated all of my remotes.

Recently switched from Time Warner to Directv. So far I have not been able to get down to 1 remote. I would be happy with either one of the two solutions:

1) Get the DirectTV HR21 remote to be able to turn off the H/K AVR247

or Prefereably:

2) Get the Universal URC-200 to control the Directv. No pre-programmed settings work. So I went into learning mode. It is very difficult to get the URC to recognize the HR21. I got some buttons working. But not the power button.

Please don't suggest a different remote.

Thanks in advance, Carl

You want be able to find on a single code to power both ON& OFF the HK receiver, not with its use of a two-key power scheme.

The whole URC urc- line has major learning problem, that includes models urc-100, 200, and 300. I believe its the built-in RF antenna in the way of the IR pickup window.

When teaching the urc200, use new batteries in both remotes, then use an abrupt and short key press on the donor remote.
