I have the proview MH462SU 46" plasma and for the most part it is pretty good. It has the faroudja scaler and is EDTV.

I do see some false contours in some programs, depends largely on the quality of the input signal, but again all plasmas exhibit some false contours.

Black level is decent. Now my question is that is some primetime programs on CBS, ABC the dark parts of the picture loose shadow detail. I do gain the shadow detail if I raise the brightness but then the middle and high
tones of the picture get washed out.

I think the gamma of this TV is not set at an optimal level. Does anybody have this set and knows how to access the service menu on this TV?

This set has the panel made by Chughwa Picture Tubes in Taiwan and the electronics are based on technology from Mitsubishi corp.
