Does anyone have any experience with the Manfrotto 700RC2? I have a nice set of legs and a ball head for still photography, but I need a video head for this set tripod.

Rich127 09-09-08, 11:43 AM I got the Bogen 700RC2 Fluid Head (with the 3001BN Tripod Legs) about two years ago. It suits me well, I guess. 1. It is smooth, (just adjust the lever properly). 2. The handle can only be mounted on the right side (That seems to bother some people). 3. The quick release is not as quick as I would like, but I don't know what I would use instead. It has a thumb-screw which you don't how much to unscrew it. I have used quick releases in the past which were easier to use. 4. It does not have a level like some have (however I find its difficult to adjust legs and trying to watch a level). 5. It seems light (and compact) compared to what I have used in the past, but I guess that is what many people need and I will use mine more often now. I did a lot of research until I got tired and pulled the trigger, I am satisfied with it. I use it with a GS500. I went ahead and got the 700RC2. It is a very nice head for the money and it's compact and light enough for travel. I'm using it on 190CXPRO4 carbon fiber legs. It's a beautiful combination. The fluid head is very smooth and you can't beat the Manfrotto build quality. I also use the 468RC2 on these legs with my dSLR. I really like this thing! Thanks again for the feedback. Cheers, Eric |
