I have an Infocus ScreenPlay 4805 projector. It's about 2 years old. Since last few days, I started seeing a vertical dark stripe on the right side of the screen (see attached pictures). I cleaned the lamp screen, lens as described in the manual, but didn't help.
I was wondering if anyone experienced same problem. I'd appreciate any insight regarding this.
Thanks

That is the light tunnel failing. The lamp will NEVER cause any problems other than reduced brightness. Infocus has discontinued parts for those projectors. Your only choice is to attempt a repair of the light tunnel. It can be done, but you have to remove the color wheel to get to it and that part is very fragile. Do a search for Infocus light tunnel repair, it's been done and is documented.

I followed instructions found this site and fixed the light tunnel using locktite gel glue. Project is now as good as new.. everything working perfectly (at least for now).
Was it really necessary to remove the front and rear panels? That was the hardest part.. getting them out of those tabs. I know the bottom panel must be removed to get to the light tunnel.

Mine is under warranty from circuit city still and is having this same issue... I wonder if I could get a credit towards a new projector if they don't have parts to fix it.

Ranger, what would be some good tips that you could give me in repairing my 4805? I am having the EXACT same problem you are. I got worse last night when we were watching a SD movie with the black bars on the side. Do you not need to take off all the panels?
Thanks!
