Can anyone tell me why I can't get my Harmony 659 remote to control a Dish Network 612 receiver? I've tried setting it up three times with no luck. I must be missing something!! I can't get it to even turn the receiver on.

MAke sure you have the DISH Network receiver set to use IR commands from the remote instead of RF. That info should be in your manual.

Thanks for the advise. I tried that to no avail. The manual states the receiver accepts BOTH ir and uhf signals and gives no instructions as to how to change from one to the other so I guess that isn't possible to do with this receiver. Any other suggestions????

Make sure its set to address or unit code #1, dish receiver have 16 IR addresses, the one found in most remote is #1.
