I have the Philips DVDR3576 and I recorded a show on HQ that is about four hours long. I want to put it on my computer; if I try to dub it, it will only let me choose SLP; but I want to dub using HQ (or HS... which is also unavailable). Isn't there any way to do this? Can't I record it in 18 minute blocks on a DVD-RW then transfer each piece to my computer, erase the DVD, then continue?

Yes, but the only way is to DIVIDE the 4-hr HQ recording into 1-hr or less blocks (or 18 min. that you mentioned?). Actual HS dub time that can be dubbed is 1:04:55 and not a sec more, as listed here. (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12298490&postcount=19)

Each 1-hr HQ title should be HS dubbable to a DVD. Then, transfer in block to your computer???

There is a way to break a single recording into multiple sections?

^^Yes, look into the 3575 thread at the top of the thread list, and there is detailed info on how to divide a long recording into separate segments.

I have this feature in Panasonic DMR-EH55.
