Well, I'm currently watching my beloved packers on Monday Night Football, on my HC1500. Well... with less than 140 hours on the bulb, I'm starting to notice a slow scrolling line that is violet in color. It starts from the bottom of the screen (across the whole screen, even during commercials with the bars on the sides), gets to the top, then starts again on the bottom. I've changed the channel through HD and Non HD programs, and on every one the line is there, some more pronounced than others. I'm planning on hooking up a PS3 to it once the game is over to see if this happens again, but does anyone have any experience with this? I still have a few weeks left on the Mitsu 90-day warranty, but REALLLY hope I don't have to deal with it. Thanks!

Try another video source, most likely it is the cable box.
it sounds like a HUM bar...use HDMI and it should go away...

I used to have a similar scrolling line on my projector when I used analog video inputs. As has been said, use HDMI.

Sounds like a ground loop. It can happen with any cable, HDMI or other. Here's some info:

Nothing wrong with your PJ. Listen to BuffaloJim, HDMI is not immune to this and switching to an HDMI connection is not likely to solve the problem. One thing many of us do with PJs is plug the PJ into an outlet that is somewhat removed from the signal source. This is what is most likely causing the loop to occur. I am not an expert, but my understanding is this is not a signal source issue so changing source cables will do nothing. This is an electrical issue with the grounding of the device. Some of you experts can correct me if I am wrong.
I have a similar situation with my AX-200U. The weird thing is that the bars are only visible or apparent when I watch TV through the PJ. When I watch a DVD there are no bars scrolling on the PJ. I wish I had an explanation for that.

Thanks guys... I was getting a little scared there for a few minutes...
I plugged in a PS3 last night, and the problem was gone. We then hooked up my roommates LCD through our cable box, and he had the same issue. Looks like its time to go back to charter and get a new box (this is our third one in two months... our first one was a refurbished unit that went blank a half hour the guy left.)

Check the cable ground....where your cable TV comes into the house theres usually a ground clamp and a wire eitehr runs to the electrical box ground or to a pipe, or a dedicated ground rod. IT probably came loose or is corroded. I just had the same issue, I discovered waht it was b/c it would disappear when I'd unhook the coax cable from the HD box. Once I cleaned/tightened that ground outside problem disappeared. Mine was also accompanied by an anoying hum from the speakers.

Hum in the speakers.
Scrolling line on video display.
The classic earmarks of a ground loop problem. And that's good advice, but it doesn't always get rid of the ground loop. If it still remains, there's a link in the link I had above that leads to ebtech's "Hum X". It's a superb product that will get rid of the ground loop while still providing the safety security of a ground.
