Sorry if this question has been posted, but I've read/searched in this thread and in the Onkyo 606 Owners thread and haven't found anything except things relating to the Mac Mini.

I've got a Mac PowerPC G5 (not Intel) Dual 2.0 w/ dual DVI output via ATI video card w/ 512MB I think it's the 9800pro but not 100% sure, and I don't know if it's HDCP or not.

I want to convert the DVI from the Mac to HDMI and have the Onkyo606 switch the video for me. The audio will be sent separately via toslink. I watch a lot of dvds in .vob format from my Mac via the built-in DVD software and would like at least a 720p or 1080i signal to be passed onto my Panny AX200U projector from the Onkyo606 HDMI output.

Will I have any handshake or HDCP compatibility issues? Has anyone hooked up their PC or Mac as a video source and successfully had the 606 switch it for them?

Thanks for any help on this!

BZ

The Mac doesn't support HDCP so you should not have any issues at all. I've piped my mini through my Outlaw pre/pro and didn't have many issues. The mini and the tv did seem to have an easier time of things when the pre/pro and the tv were on the proper inputs when the mini was first powered up. After that, things worked flawlessly.

Well that's good news. I plan on getting the Onkyo regardless but I would be nice to hear from someone whos either got HDMI switching to work w/ a Mac and an Onkyo... maybe more people will see this thread.

Thanks for the info!
