View Full Version : Odd question(philips flat screen)

So at the local walmart here they have philips flatscreens displaying advertisements and whatnot in the grocery and pharmacy sections. The tv's are standing upright similar to what some airports do with their widescreens, however. These don't look 16:9 at all, they are a wider aspect ratio, they have to be.

Anybody heard of a philips screen that was a wider aspect ratio than 16:9, i'd imagine they don't generally sell these directly to consumers, but the walmart displays have the backs covered so i cannot get a model number. I'd really like to get my hands on one of these.

So are you saying these are like 2.35:1 instead of 16:9? I've personally never heard of any tvs other than 16:9 and 4:3.

not sure if they are full 2.35:1 or not... but they don't look 16:9...


maybe my eyes are poor.... i'm gonna send a letter to the store manager and ask him the model ##'s on them.
