I have a Samsung HP-S5053 plasma that I have owned for about 2 years. It buzzed when I first got it, but I wasn't aware that how loud it was actualy buzzing was abnormal. I can clearly hear it buzz from 9ft away when watching dialogue scenes. I have pinpointed where a majority of the buzzing comes from, (from the rear view) the upper right corner vent and lower left corner vent. I did figure out if the sound is absorbed before it gets to the wall, the loudness is reduced drastically, but I don't want to simply fill the vent and I'd like to fix this problem if possible.

I also have a 20" Samsung LCD computer monitor that has also started making this buzzing after nearly a year. It was dead silent previously. Being that it is a computer monitor, and I sit 1-2ft away, this is extremely distracting.

One strange thing abouth both situations, the loudness of buzzing changes. There is pretty much 3 levels 1.quite (normal) 2. Mild 3. Annoyingly loud These seem to change and it is completely random. It is not a gradual change either. I have removed surge protectors and plugged directly into the wall and no change.

I actually had this same issues with my HT subwoofer. It would hum and change levels just as my TV's are, but a ground loop isolator completely removed the hum from my subwoofer.

I've been reading threads on buzzing for the last couple days and all I can come up with for possible fixes/reason are:

EMF? (Is it really possible for my displays to buzz because of high levels of EMF?)
Check voltage level at outputs (will test this in a day or two)
Get a power conditioner (Qaulity surge protectors with conditioning for each output easily cost $200-300, with warranty. This is a last resort.)

Any other possible fixes? I could be wrong, but this issue seems kind of unique because the level of buzzing randomly changes.

Also, I live in an apartment...

Thanks!
