hey everyone

I'm from Toronto, Canada so I'm currently using Rogers' services. I don't want to lease an HD-PVR from Rogers cause I simply don't want to get into the contract b/s so I need something similar.

I looked at some of the HD DVD recorders with a hard drive and I want to know one important thing and is it possible to record one channel and watch another at the same time? I heard you need dual tuners on the DVD recorder to do this and I dunno which one has it.

Thanx

Today's SD DVDRs have only one tuner, so watch or record only one program on the DVDR itself. However, DVDRs have coax passthru so whatever signal is received is passed thru the coax chain to downstream components (STB, TV), whether DVDR is on or off, so they can use their tuners independently..this is how you record one thing on the DVDR, and watch another thing on the TV while the DVDR is recording.
