I ordered ( and received) a Hot-Link Pro. I hope to get it installed this weekend.

I am a bit concerned about the sticky tabs, do I just peel and stick directly to each component or is it better to use a velcro or something incase I ever need to take the tab off to replace gear or move or whatever..

I don't adhere the tabs, in case of replacing or moving components. Just hover the IR emitters in front of the IR sensors on each component. This is how I have it configured. IIRC, this is mentioned in the instructions available in print and online. The only component this wouldn't work for is a TV, but that shouldn't be blocked from line of sight, anyway.
