So, I have had a screen on my ceiling for some time, and a nice projector.

It IS a living room, that is used for more then a theater.

But the ceiling is white, and the walls are a light tan, and glossy.

I want to kill the reflective light.

Any suggestions?

Make sure ALL wall treatment and ceiling treatment is non-reflective.

Paint should be flat - with NO gloss. We put up inexpensive paneling because it was a nice dark shade of brown and totally non-reflective.

Our ceiling is off white and totally non-reflective.

IMO - greatest source of reflected ambient light is the screen - bright white screens are the worst. We really enjoy our gray Da-lite fixed screen which reflects practically no light and makes the scaling horizontal bands at top and bottom of wide image movies practically invisible.
