I know, I probably broke some kind of rule or posted in the wrong area! I hope you guys can forgive me and lend your knowledge to help me out! This site has wayyyyyyyyyyyy to many forums and actually has a learning curve as to where and how to post LOL! It's HUGE! Anyway, I have an Optoma HD 65 that I am going to ceiling mount. I have mounted this thing but think I may have done it incorrectly! I have a 118" wide screen and I measured from the from each corner of the screen out to the center mounting spot for the projector! ( so it would be square to the screen) Instead of calculating distance for a numbered size screen I simply held the projector up and moved it back until the right size was aquired. Now, I only have eight foot ceilings and the distance from the ceiling to the viewable part of the screen is about 10 to 12 inches. The projector is about 6 to 8 inches below the ceiling. My thinking on how I may have screwed up!

1. I had it zoomed as far as it would zoom ( I did not notice until done )
where should this be set for OPTIMAL light and crispness of picture at the start of installation?? At center for the option of zooming in or out to fit screen?? Will this effect light lumens or output to the screen??

2. The projector to ceiling height does this matter as you can simply tilt it up and down??? Is there a calculation as how far up or down it should be in relation to screen??

3. Finally, there are two sets of 16:9 screen resolutions. One is native which is small and seems narrow and tall, the second is simply 16:9 wide screen that I am familiar with. I don't know the difference in the two. I do know the 16:9 is that of a regular wide screen tv or theater. The native 16:9 I have no idea. Which setting should it be when I recalculate screen size and distance. etc etc

Please give me instructions in detail on how I should install, mount and setup this device that is if there is a kind enough person out there willing to share his or her knowledge with a desperate individual!!!!!

Wrong forum. You have a front projector. you should try either the Digital Hi-end projector, or Digital Projector under $3000.
