Hi All,

I have a pretty strangely proportioned (and small) home theater room that I am trying to treat, but I'm not sure where to start.

Here's a rough diagram of the room:

The room as a whole has 12' ceilings, but at the front of the room where our TV is, the wall goes up 10' then the final 2' are a 45 degree angled wall, as shown in my drawing. The flooring is plush carpet.

I already have 6 acoustic panels for the side walls, but i'm wondering about treating my front and back walls, as well as that angled section. I'm thinking about using acoustic panels on these surfaces as well, but I don't want to deaden the room too much either. Any advice would be appreciated.

Bump. Anyone?

One more question, is an angled wall usually cause for more concern if I just deaden the whole surface? I don't want the room to sound too "dead".

I'm far from an expert on acoustics, but in my experience I found that I received the most improvement in sound quality (imaging, clarity, and detail) by putting absorbtion panels on the FRONT wall. I've added heavy (costly!) curtains to the back and side walls since then, but have only notice moderate improvement.

My room has a different shape than the one you've laid out, so YMMV...
