For those of you outside of the Houston area that cannot get enough info about Hurricane Ike, you can watch our local station KHOU on Direct TV and get audio on XM. Plus...they are streamed via: www.khou.com
They have a top notch news team, and have borrowed reporters from their sister stations in Dallas and San Antonio. They also have Dr. Neil Frank, former director of the National Hurricane Center who is a maven on big storms.
KHOU's coverage is in HD and 16:9 SD; however, I cannot guarantee that Direct TV will carry the digital signal.
"We worked out a partnership with XM Radio and DirecTV.
We are available on XM Radio Channel 247 to subscribers and non-subscribers alike on all vehicles with XM receivers. No charge!
DirecTV will put us on their emergency channel 361 for all their subscribers. This will happen shortly."
