I have an older Marantz DLP - VP12S1. Recently I started to notice what looks like a hair or piece of lint caught in the image on the lower right corner of the screen. It does not come off when I wipe the lens and I don't see anything on the mirror when I remove the lamp. I'm hesitant to take apart the entire projector (it's ceiling mounted) but this may be my only recourse. Any suggestions or advice before I take this thing apart looking for a needle in a haystack? Thanks very much!

Funny, I had the same experience with a rear projection Samsung when it first came out. We had a Korean engineer visiting that came by the office where we showed him the TV. He looked at it for a second and then whacked the side of the TV hard with his palm and the fuzz disappeared. Apparently, it was plastic shaving of some type that got caught in the spot.

Who needs filters with customer support like that? I also have a Korean engineer who stands next to my Samsung DLP RPTV for just the same purpose :D The TV is in my bedroom though so despite the good service it is a bit creepy :eek:

Yeah I really underestimated the creepiness in renting Booboo the dust blob cleaner :D
