One of the guys i work with has a 50" philips plasma, sony dvd player, yamaha receiver and direct tv. Everything is using the RF adapter except the tv. The problem is when the tv is on, the remote will not control anything. As soon as the tv is turned off, it will start to control the reciever and other products... has anyone seen this issue? The only thing i can think of is the TV is interfering, or the remote was programmed wrong. Thanks in advance

I have programmed a couple of the 890's and what your saying, I would think the remote was not given the right info about the TV. Sometimes the remote will fix the problem when you ask for help in the upper right hand portion of the remote. If that doesn't fix it you need to go back and re-program the remote to make sure it has the exact info about the TV.

He is saying that when he turns the TV of manually but still has the command sent out to control the product, the remote works fine, but then the tv is turned on it does not work. it is weird from the way he is describing it, i have not seen anything like it. I am going to try to program it again for him tomorrow.

If I'm understanding correctly, this could be that his plasma is causing interference with the IR receiver on all of his equipment.
It's being my experience that the Harmony remotes do not have a very strong IR blaster (I have the 880 and 520). Compared to my URC MX500 and some of the original remotes.
To solve this you could try to goolge plasma IR interference and see some of the fixes. One basic fix I found is after attaching the IR to eye to the equipment, cover it with black tape.
Here is one link (http://www.hot-link.com/plasma.htm), that has a few suggestions (on a different IR repeater). MSI offers a product that is supposed to help here (http://www.xantech.com/products/ir_products/MS1.htm)

That is what i was figuring to try. I know he used the rubber caps over the ir that came with the remote, but electrical tape might be better at blocking the signal.
