View Full Version : All JP1 Remotes Half-Price at Radio Shack this week!!!
15-100 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2454734) 8-In-1 LCD (Backlit) $20
15-134 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3064079) 5-In-1 Satellite $10
15-133 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3031611) 5-In-1 Gamer (Backlit) $10
15-135 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2956512) 7-In-1 HDTV $13
All these have learning, 15-step macros, advanced codes, shift-keys and are JP1.3 ready (except the 15-100 which needs pins soldered in).
Even without a JP1 cable (http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9405) these are great remotes for the price, with tons of codes for the latest devices and tons of memory. With a cable, all 8 devices can be used, even though some are advertised as only 5 or 7 device, as well as home theater mode.

On sale again this week too. This is a steal for a very powerful, budget universal remote. If you're a JP1er, the 13x series also has an extender in beta right now that works beautifully. I've got all my activity macros right on the device buttons via long key presses. And macros are blazingly fast. I have 8 custom devices and 30 something macros on my 134 and still have about 70% free memory left.

I'm looking at the Radio Shack 8-in-1 Universal Remote Model 1500100. What do you think of that one.
I love the 1500100 (a.k.a. 15-100). It's the best one of the lot, but difficult to add the JP1 interface to. If you don't care about JP1, that's the one to buy. If you do care about JP1 and like soldering, it's still the one to buy. It has a device setup wizard so you don't have to look up codes in many cases. The LCD shows whatever custom device text you want. It's very easy to learn from other remotes and program macros. You can also assign just about any function to any key, as well as program advanced codes for extra functions like discrete on/off and input selection, for example. It has 3 dedicated macro buttons, but the truth is you can put macros on just about any button, or better yet on shifted buttons (see the How to link in my signature for an explanation of that). These remotes are way more powerful than the manual lets on. For $16 it's a great deal.

I don't know what JP1 is so I'm sure I don't need it. Thanks, I'll buy it tonight. Got a Radio Shack 4 blocks from me.
On sale again this week thru 11/8/08. Especially good price on the 134. First post updated with pricing.
Thanks for the heads-up, since there isn't RS in 10 miles with the 15-134 in stock, I had to order it on line and having two shipped to my local RS, which is down the street.
