I'd like to use a second (non-Harmony) remote in the same room set up as my primary Harmony 670. My wife normally sits in a recliner that is just a bit too far away from my normal sitting spot to share one remote. So she has been using the TWC remote that came with our DVR box. The problem comes in when she turns on things with the TWC remote (a Synergy-V), then if I try to use the Harmony for anything, the Harmony assumes that nothing is turned on, so it doesn't work. All I can do is either turn everything off, then back on again with the Harmony, or cycle through help screens in the Harmony for each component.

I'd like to set up some way of telling the Harmony that everything is turned on, without going through a power cycle of everything or multiple help screens. Just a one button macro to say: "Watch TV but don't cycle any power functions".

To make things worse, my wife broke the screen on my Harmony 670. All the buttons still work but no screen display. Still works fine for all basic functions but I may pick up another 670 since it does everything I need with this one exception (so far).

Point the harmony into the palm of your hand, and select the activity that represents what's currently on. If your wife is watching TV, bury the front of the remote in your palm (or couch cushion, whatever) and select the Watch TV activity. When the Harmony is done sending out it's activity start-up signals, use it normally.

Actually, if you have discrete on/off set for your components, you don't even have to block the Harmony signal. But it sounds like you don't have discretes...

Doh!

A nice simple answer to my problem. You're right, most of my equipment does not have discrete on/off codes.

Thanks for the help.
