I have had a 880 for a couple of years now. Let me amend that, I have a 3-4 880s for a couple of years now. I keep getting this issue where it stops charging and, so far, Logitech keeps sending out a new one. Well, it's happened again and Logitech say they may or may not send out a new one. Question: Does the Harmony One have the same issue? I don't want to drop another load of cash for a remote from Logitech that will keep having issues. I like the 880 but... Using for TV, DVD, DirecTV, sound system, and Xbox. (Have a PS3 as well). Any thoughts? TIA

I had a 676 that suddenly started malfunctioning. In the past year, three Logitech mice that I've owned have also malfunctioned -- in two cases the wheel stopped working properly, in another the rechargeable battery leaked.

My conclusion is that Logitech has abandoned its quality control and is no longer the premium brand it used to be.

I have both an 880 and a Harmony One. I have the latest charging base for the 880 that has the small magnet as the center contact.

The new 880 charging base works better than the older versions. However, I still have problems occasionally. I think this is because the contacts on the 880 are pretty small and recessed. They tend to get dust and other gunk built up on them so they don't make good contact. I have found that a pencil eraser works pretty well to clean them out, and get it to charge.

The Harmony One's contacts are much larger, and I haven't had any issues getting it to charge at all.

I'm still not real fond of the touchscreen on the One though. You have to look at the screen in order to make sure you hit the right button, and even then it seems to mistake your presses sometimes. I find that I often end up changing the page of the commands rather than sending out the command I was trying to send. You have to make sure to hit the buttons toward the center of the screen.

+1 on every single thing in this post.
