I've been a lurker for a while, this is my first post.

I bought my first house last month and it had a partially finished basement, which i knew would be the perfect man cave. Budget is a big thing right now but its coming along. Started with the setup i had in my old apartment:

Sony 60A3000
Sony HT-DDW995 Reciever/HTIB
60GB PS3
Toshiba HDDVD
HD DVR Cable Box
Homemeade stand

The posters are from allposters.com, and made the frames myself, because it was cheaper and i couldn't find 22x34 frames.

My couch wouldn't fit down the stairs, so i bought a smaller sofa-bed thing. Actually really well made and comfortable when in couch and bed mode. Here are the pictures:

I'm thinking a couple old school arcade games would fit nicely. Let me know you think.

Room looks perfect. Your viewing corner seems almost already prepared for when you decide to switch from the TV to Home Theater via a projector.

We have the 56in TV in our viewing area for watching cable and/or sat content and then get a really nice almost 120 inch diagonal via the PJ when it's time to dim the lights and do the Home Theater experience thing.

Games? Depends on how old you are. Being a bit older my bride and I just don't get into video arcade games (besides - it's so easy to do MAME on your PC with game emulators and game roms). If you do prefer video then suggest you contact local Operators and try to find a commercial video coin-op grade cabinet with at least a 40 game multi-game chip or flash memory build.

Our preference is pinball so we've made space for a nice oak bar and we have squeezed in a nice coin-op foos and four really nice pins - Twilight Zone, No Good Gofers (a must if you are a golfer), Monster Bash arrives tomorrow and a Fish Tales. May move the foos to the garage to make room for another pin.

Anyhow, nice looking room - the tv looks perfect for casual watching so start looking for a projector and screen for Home Theater magic.
goodluck

You'll love the audio more if you seperate the three front channels. The left and right should be much wider. Maybe something to think about when you get the infamous upgrade bug....it will happen.

Thanks for the comments. I agree the front speakers need to be separated more, i just need to do it somehow. The upgrade bug is always there (a projector would be awesome), but I think I am ok with what i have...for now. As far as arcade games I was thinking, The Simpsons 4-player, MKII, Street Fighter, along those lines. Classics from my youth.

You HAVE to get a Golden Axe arcade if those are your classics, man I spent a fortune on that game

Looks like you did a great job on the DIY frames.

Actually, I would leave the front speaker position as is. Placing them farther apart will result in misaligning the on-screen action and the accompanying sounds.

For example, when a person is talking and walks to the side of the screen, rather than the sound coming from that position (like it would be now), it would be coming from off the screen - depending how far away your L/R speakers are. That's why you'll see many pj set-ups here that place the speakers behind the screen. Just my suggestion.

Otherwise it looks good. I might add a touch of color to warm the space up a bit, but you may be a fan of white/cream.
