which is better for video processing or upconversion? pioneer elite vsx92txh or toshiba 65hm167 ?i have enough hdmi and component slots on tv and/or reciever for all components? heres what im running

sony 400 dvd changer dvp cx995v
hd dvr 8300hd
ps3
xbox 360

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. im a noob to all this ..thanx

You might be better posting in the display section where it is more likely that you will find someone with your combination of devices.

The short answer is let your eyes decide.

He hit it right on the head. YOur best bet is to do your own A/B comparison and see which one looks better.

I'm not sure how good your television is at deinterlacing, but my Pioneer's DCDI is not in the same ballpark as a dedicated VP or Oppo 983 in quality. The other issue I believe is that it will not upconvert HDMI signals (which I assume you are using with the PS3) although I only did a bit of experimentation when I bought the receiver. I would imagine it would be easier to have your display do all the converting if the PQ looks the same.
