Hi,

I have transcoded about 20 movies (using handbrake) to m4v strictly for apple tv viewing. I am a windows user so do not have the option of using the wonderful metax to tag my files.

In fact my options seem to be extremely limited (if anyone has any suggestions for a windows based 3rd party m4v tagger, I'm all ears).

Hence, I am using itunes to add the cover art. Or at least trying to use itunes. I can select the cover art file fine by right clicking on the movie --> Get Info --> Artwork tab --> add.

Problem is the image doesn't save when you click okay. The other 'text' based tags seem to save fine, but can't get the cover art to save with the file.

Anyone come across this and/or have any suggestions?

I've tried finding other taggers, but have had limited luck - I found one called Tagger that looked the most promising, but it does not let you add cover art - at least as far as I can tell.

Thanks.

not too many Windows users here, I'm afraid...

is the image showing up "inside" the box when you "add" and before you click OK? Is the cover art a typical JPEG that you got from Amazon?

yep it is a jpg file. Though not from Amazon. Once I 'Add' the image, it displays in the 'preview' box fine. But after clicking OK, the image disappears.

you might try bring the jpg file up in Paint or other program and resaving out ; I've had some issues with jpg format compatibility from time to time.. I use Preview or Photoshop on the Mac;

Will give that a try. Though I have jpgs from a few different sources and no luck. We will see.

Turns out the problem was because I had created a 64bit file with handbrake and the tagging tools I have tried do not support 64bit files. Man I wish I could use metax.

Looks like it is Mac only. I'm using vista.

metaX works - just verified; It's slow but works great; Saves the cover art to the Handbrake generated m4v file...
