Hello to all & please forgive the structures post as this is my first & I am at a loss:(
I recently purchased the above A/V Receiver and I am struggling with a particular problem.
The plasma is UNFORTUNATELY connected to the Onkyo TX-SR506 amp via the S-Video monitor out as the existing lead goes through the wall and there is no possibility of changing it.

The current video sources are:
1. DVD player connected to the DVD S-Video Input & the Audio via Coax 1 (DVD) Digital in……….This works very well both with video showing in colour & audio
2. Sky decoder connected to CBL/SAT S-Video Input & the Audio via the relevant Composite………The sound works well, however, the video comes out only in Black & White!!
3. Hotbird satellite decoder connected to VCR/DVR S-Video Input and Audio via Composite………..As above, audio is fine but video only comes out in Black & White!!

As you know both decoders don’t have S-Video Out & I used either SCART to S-Video adapters or proper dedicated SCART to S-Video leads. I wanted to make sure that all was via S-Video
as stated in manual that the amp video inputs must be consistent with its video output.

I have tried many different possibilities starting from changing the decoders leads in case there were faulty to playing with the decoder’s PAL/RGB settings of the scarts.

Could anyone tell me if I am making any error in the above setup and is there perhaps something I missed in the manual in terms of assigning terminals or inputs ??

I would be grateful for any feedback or a similar experience that was eventually solved.
