Leica certainly have good lens, photography and slide projector pedigree.
But don't get too excited, it looks like they're just using Avielo / projectiondesign to OEM projectors being sold under the Leica brand.
Their first model appears to use the same tiny chassis as the Avielo Radiance (http://www.avielo.com/products_radiance.html) and projectiondesign F10 (http://www.projectiondesign.com/Default.asp?CatID=1673) - and is probably not aimed at the mainstream market.
Leica Pradovit D-1200 specs (Source : letsgodigital (http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/19990/leica-projector/))
1 chip DLP, 1920x1200, 2500:1 contrast, 1400 lumens, 3.5Kg, 28dB.
Available November 2008. No pricing info, but it's safe to say this $3k+ forum is the correct place for it.
