For some reason my HDMI input on the back of my 50" Samsung HLR 5067wax stopped working! any indeas. I'm now using my component inputs instead. I bought a new cable and tried it on 2 different devices so it must be the back of the tv. I get a no signal or weak signal when I turn on the dvd player when I turn it off I get a check connection message. Any ideas????
Can't say for sure, but some of the HDMI boards have died over the years. If component is working well for you, that's probably your best solution.
Some people unplug the tv for a while and replug it and it resets itself, that may be worth trying.

Is your DVD player set to use standard or progresive mode?

Not sure on the dvd player but its not working on the directv tuner box as well. My dvd player is a samsung upconvert model bought around the same time as the tv.

Then it appears that the HDMI receiver chip on your TV is not longer working properly whereas the component receiver chip is. The problem with the chip could have occured due to a power surge or due to hot plugging one of the HDMI interfaces. I don't know if the HL-R HDMI recever chips are of the newwer design that support hot pluging.

I have the same problem now, with my Samsung HLR5667WX/XAA. The HDMI just stopped working. Troubleshooting, I got another box from the house, and it came on for about 5 seconds then gave me a blue screen that said "Your HD connection has become compromised - please use the YBR inputs" - how nice to tell me something has failed :)
I tried (with a low quality RCA cable) to connect cable box to AV input, and that did work, so I guess my next move is to buy a good quality component cable and use that...
RIP HDMI input, it was nice knowing you :(

I just had the same thing happen to my Samsung 50" TV. I feel like I bought a lemon. 2 years old an already no digital input. Last time I buy a Samsung.
