I have a 3 or 4 year old 60' Sony grand wega in a well lit room with a few windows.
i tried calibrating it for the first time today (went with inexpensive THX Optimizer) and though it does look better, its just too gloomy and darkish during the day time. At night it looks slightly better. Not even sure if it looks better now than it did with vivid option.
im thinking its the backlight level but my tv does not have a backlight option.
ive read about getting to the service menu but that i should be careful. maybe theres a backlight option in the service menu?
here are my settings with only the tv turned on.
Custom mode
Picture = 84
Brightness = 52
Color = 62
Hue = G4
Color Temp. = Warm
Sharpness = 67
DRC Mode = High Density
DRC Palette = Custom
Advance Video Settings
Black Corrector = Off
Gamma = High
Clear White = On
Color Corrector = Low
Thats everything i can find as far as settings.
Any suggestions on changes to my settings?
