I searched the forums and didn't find any answered that applied, so I figured I'd start my own thread.
I was given a Samsung HL-R4667W from a friend of the family. They had it for a couple years. While under warranty, it had its motherboard (or controller board) replaced by Myer Emco. A few months out of warranty, the TV stopped working and the lamp light up front started flashing. Myer Emco told them it was a lamp that needed to be replaced, and it'd be about $300 to $400 bucks.
They decided instead to just get a new DLP with a new warranty. They let the TV sit in their basement for about a year, then offered it to me. I brought it home and ended up selling it to a friend, telling him it needed a lamp.
He bought the lamp and put it in. However, the lamp light still flashes and there is no screen.
So, what could be the issue?
As a seperate sidenote, the only way my friend could transport it was upside-down (no lie). it had to travel about 200 miles like this. I'm aware this can clearly do damage to the mirrors and color wheel, but would the lamp light still flash because of that, or would that present itself in another way?
Thanks for any and all help, I appreciate it!
