I have a Rotel RSP 980 pre/pro that I just hooked up to a power amp, and before turning on, I lowered the volume control. When I put on a Cd track, the volume was through the roof loud. I moved the volume control and it does not seem to make a difference. I have the power amp hooked up to one of the preamp outputs. I really don't know what to do now, as I don't want to put it on again and blow my speakers. Does anyone have an idea what this can be? It seems to either be bypassing the volume control, or there is something wrong with this unit. The volume knob turns, but it does not change the output at all. ??
