If you've been watching nVidia for a while on 3D, they are very keen on partnerships that exclude non-preferred manufacturers, but I don't see any way they could prevent any Samsung 3D enabled DLP to work any different than the Mits DLPs they are endorsing. Anybody have any thoughts on that?

Dude, here again theres not much info about 3D. nVidia hardly says anything.I would love to buy the set-up but theres not much content for it once you buy it. Its like these
companys have made there Tvs 3D compatibale and then abanded the technoligy.I dont
get it.

Well, it sounds like nVidia's driver will make render just about any DirectX game in 3D, without having to do anything to the game. They talked about playing Call of Duty and racing games and stuff. That would be REALLY cool, if it worked well. I'd buy a setup, and hookup my computer.

Now, I just wish the PS3 would implement this for gaming, it would be killer for them. And movies too, I'd like to see some of the movies that have been in 3d at the theater in 3D on blu ray!

it seems to be limited to games at this point though, since its based on software running on your PC. It seems like it could be cool though, especially since it works with almost any 3d graphics game, and doesn't require the game to be coded differently or "locked in" to be made in 3d in any way. I'd like to see it in person though!

nVidia native drivers have always had a very large list of games they supported. They had trouble keeping up with new releases because they didn't update drivers often enough, but hopefully that will change. They even addressed that criticism.

I think between the numerous articles and interviews linked above they said quite a bit. Just sounds promising is all. The fact that most PC gaming is now DirectX it just makes their job easier.

Well, we've had a lot of hints that 3D BluRay is coming, the big question will be if the same nVidia setup will support movies and games. I don't see why I would have to have a special player to support BluRay 3D, just an update to my HTPC playback software.

Well thats part of the problem. Theres not a standard yet for 3D. For instance,I got an
ATI card in my computer and a Samsung 3D tv. They suggest Trydef software and you got to pay for each driver and theres not many available. They need a standard to get this thing going,My compute is hooked and ready to go, it just needs to be worth it.

While I don't have time to read all this, I will contain my excitment for the day the PC is not involved in this process. I want to hook up my PS3, turn on my glasses, and watch 3d Blu-ray disks or play 3d games without the PC.

The PS3 has been rumored for a while to be able to do this, and Mitsubishi was supposed to be working on the driver to achieve this feat. Until that hits the majority of people aren't going to go through all the trouble to get 3D on their TV.

Almost Christmas and still no update.
