Hi, I recently inherited a 50PX60 as my first "HD" item at home. I know, I am slow with this. I have also started Verizon Fios Service so I can watch HD content.

Now, the issue is, after connecting HDMI from the Set top box to the tv, I cannot select neither HDMI 1 nor HDMI 2 as the signal source. The option is grayed out.

I tried to switch the signal source from the set top box to my pc, my pc recognizes the TV, but yet again, I cannot select HDMI as the input from the TV. I turned off and then turned on the TV but the same thing still holds.

I tried 2 different HDMI cables, so that should not have been the issue. Did I miss anything with the setup?

Thank you for your help.

Did I miss anything with the setup? It sounds like the previous owner of the TV wasn't using any HDMI devices and had set the HDMI inputs to the "SKIP" setting which renders them unavailable. People do this on their unused inputs to make it quicker to scroll through the various inputs, bypassing all the unused inputs.

Go into the TV's SETUP menu and there will be a setting for External Devices or something like that and you'll find INPUT LABELs. Highlight the HDMI input and arrow over and change the name to CABLE or HDMI or whatever and that should enable that HDMI input.
