2 part Question
I am an Systems integrated installer. new to the Audio and Visual world. I have a customer who wants to purchase the CAV system by Russound. I spec for 10 zones and touch screen keypads

10 Zones
10 Touch screen keypad
Cat 5 wire to keypad (going to run 2 to each keypad just have an extra)
16/4 wire to keypad from head end
16/4 from each speaker to Keypad
Does this sound right so far?

I am also going to run 2 Cat 5E and 2 coaxial to Television for HD television. Customer wants to Put all cable boxes in AV room Head End Closet. I am then going to Purchase the Cat 5 to HD Kit Plates. Please excuse AV Language.

What would this be the right combination of wires for Audio and for HD TV?? Cable boxes have to be hidden With IR kits. I Have hooked up the IR kits in the passed. Just a little confused with what type audio cable gets ran for TV and what type video cable should be used. Customer will either have VERIZON FIOS or Cablevision as TV service provider. Eventually will Put 1 or 2 Cableboxes Audio through CAV

Longest runs are 160-180ft

Thanks

For your first part, that all looks fine.

For the second part, are you looking at installing the audio and video balun systems to run the HDTV broadcasts across? If so, those can become cost-prohibitive for larger homes where there are a bunch of rooms. Another way to go would be to run 5 RG6 cables and 1 Cat5 from where the cable boxes will be located to each TV. The RG6 cables can be terminated onto modular jacks that will have RCA connectors that snap into the faceplates for a clean install. The Cat5 will be used for the IR system for each room. Generally, each cable box has 2 sets of analog audio output jacks so one set can go directly to the TV in a bedroom and the other set can be connected to the inputs on the Russound amplifier. Then, the audio for a given TV broadcast can be transmitted over the TV's internal speakers and through the Russound multi-room system over the ceiling speakers.
