Was doing some price shopping and noticed the 50" version of the same model is about $330 cheaper than the smaller version. Any reason?

Must have hit a sale. I usually see them at the same price. The 46" hardly ever goes on sale from what I see.

the 50" is a more of a common size and they want to rank up the 46" for those who need a non normal size? maybe

Probably because the 46PZ800U was announced as being discontinued, they are actively putting the 50PZ800U on sale now.

That is correct! Lack of demand at the price point. The 46PZ80/85 are doing quite better.

50PZ800U vs 46PZ800U??? Was looking to purchase one of these panels, but saw the price is less for the 50" vs 46". What gives? Is it really supply and demand or is there something wrong with the 50's? I thought bigger is better here.

Thanks.

I don't think it's supply & demand as much as it is that Panasonic is the only company with a 46" plasma so people that can't fit a 50" model into their setup will pay a higher price for the smaller size & Panny knows it.

Not anymore, you are looking in the wrong places, the 42PZ800U and the 46PZ800U took a nice drop.......about 3-4 bones ;)

On Amazon the 50" ($2,000) is $500 more than the 46" ($1,504).

$1399 is the lowest price I've come across so far.
