So, i own a Vizio VP422 Plasma and it is unbelievable looking, the thing that gets me is that when there is no signal the panel goes to a full blue screen (like with their LCD TV's) the only problem is that if left on this could seriously wear out the blue phosphors. Is there any adjustment in the service menu or perhaps a firmware upgrade available to just have the screen go black when there is no signal detected?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing, not even a way into the service menu? Come on guys, help me out.
what I like to do on my LCD to avoid this for example my DVD player Via HDMI takes almost a minute to boot up and would have the blue screen no signal until it does. So when I'm getting reading to watch a movie, I will turn on the DVD player first before switching from HDMI 1 to HDMI 3, and wait a minute until I see "No disk" on the DVD player and then switch inputs and that has solved that problem.

I've tried the 3 methods of getting into the service menu posted to no avail. Strange thing is on my vp422 sometimes the background is black when the no signal message appears.
