Hi,
Would really appreciate some comments on this:
Bought the TV 4 years ago. Watch less than 12 hours of TV per week. Lamp was replaced after 2 years now I encountered the same problem and was told it needs to be replaced again. Also has blue tint at the bottom of the screen and the repair company told me the optics need to be repair. This repair service, 1 of the 2 authorized by Sony in Houston Texas, wanted $750 for the lamp and some related components and $800 for the optics (parts + labor). Please tell me 1) if the lamp is easy to replace ? I found on the net that a lamp would cost less than $180 but according to this repair shop, there are other components need to be replaced with a new lamp. 2) I will live with the slight bluish tint but will it get worse and deteriorate fast ?
