I mounted the TV with some help from friends yesterday. BUT tomorrow I need to paint the wall.

would it be okay to unmount the TV including the mounting brackets and "base" so I can easily paint the wall?

I asked since I'm not sure if removing the screws and putting it back again, it won't be as secure as the first time I put them in.

maybe I can use longer screws when I remount them?

Thank you

If you are using bolts/screws that drive themselves into the studs, it won't be as strong as it is after the first installation since you are "reusing" the holes. Now, this doesn't mean that it won't work, just may not be ideal. If i were you and concerned about it, I'd take the TV off the mount and paint around the "base" - just plan to have to repaint that wall if/when you move.

Unless I'm missing something here. Just take off the TV leaving the wall bracket on the wall. Tape the bracket to keep paint off of it and paint the wall. Remove tape. Re-install TV.

If you ever remove the TV. You will have to patch the holes and repaint that section anyway so you can catch the area you don't paint in this go around. Be sure to save some paint.
